The traditional sweet of Eastern Crete
A sweet that adds to the joys of home!
Patoudo, the beloved traditional sweet of Eastern Crete.
Encased within its soft dough lies a sweet filling of honeyed walnuts, almonds, and raisins, delicately spiced with cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg.
Customarily made in August in Ierapetra, and on September 14th in Sitia, coinciding with the feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross.
A sweet that enhances the warmth of home and family, holding a special place in the heart of every housewife.
