Kakavia is a dish that originated on fishing boats. This fishermen's soup features a variety of fish, ample amounts of thinly sliced onions, coarsely chopped potatoes, just enough water to cover the potatoes, olive oil, and a touch of acidity. The tastiness of the soup increases with the abundance of fish, ideally incorporating various types. For instance, the addition of a grouper head enhances both the flavour and texture of the soup.
