Discover one of Crete’s oldest and most impressive gorges, Katholiko Gorge—a destination that combines natural beauty with historical intrigue. The hike begins at the 16th-century Monastery of Gouverneto and leads you through the gorge to the historic Katholiko Monastery, Crete’s first monastery, carved directly into the rocks.
The trail offers breathtaking landscapes, including caves, striking rock formations, and a serene, otherworldly atmosphere. At the end of the route, you’ll be rewarded with stunning views of the sea, perfect for unwinding and exploring.
