I don’t see Crete as something picturesque and smiling. Its essence is severe, carved by struggle and suffering. This island, positioned between Europe, Asia, and Africa, was destined by its geography to become the bridge between these three continents. This is why Crete was the first land in Europe to receive the light of civilization that came from the East.
