Aquadive: Scuba Diving at the BYRON Wreck
ABOUT
The cargo ship BYRON I sank off the bay of Kali Limenes in 1985 as a result of severe weather conditions.
According to local legend, the ship was reportedly carrying 11,000 tons of sugar when it sank and subsequently broke in two. This event is said to have led to the cargo spilling into the open sea, leading to the belief that the waters transformed from salty to sweet.
Delve into the mystery of the shipwreck through scuba diving and uncover the marine life of the region. Conclude your day with a meal at a nearby taverna.
