Crete is renowned for its gastronomy. If you want to delve into the secrets of Cretan cuisine, head to the eco-tourism village of Enagron, in Axos, Mylopotamos.
Here, you’ll have the chance to learn, step by step, how to make your own traditional bread and cheese.
The village cook, Stavroula, takes you on a journey back in time when every woman prepared her family’s daily bread. She begins by teaching you how to knead the dough and then bake bread in a wood-fired oven.
Next, during the season when the local shepherd's sheep produce fresh milk, Stavroula demonstrates how to make your own local cheese.
Once it comes out warm from the pot, you can taste it!
Children aged 5 and above are welcome to join.
