Mygero Shelter (Lakkos Mygeroy)
ABOUT
The Refuge is Located at Lakkos tou Mygerou, at an Altitude of 1600m
The refuge is managed by the Mountain Rescue Department of the Heraklion branch of the Hellenic Rescue Team.
The small plateau of Mygeros remains snow-covered for long periods during the winter. In recent years, various events have been organized here, including mountaineering races, ski mountaineering lessons, and other activities introducing visitors to mountain sports.
The refuge has 15 beds, a sofa, a small kitchen with a camping gas stove, a wood stove with firewood, and outdoor toilets.
Reservations must be made in advance, at least one week prior to your visit.
Users of the refuge are required to keep the space clean and tidy.
In case of damage, compensation will be requested by the team’s coordinators.
