ABOUT
Looking for a rustic adventure in the wild beauty of the Cretan mountains?
Discover the traditions of Crete with a journey starting from the eco-tourism village of Enagron, in Axos, Mylopotamos.
You’ll follow a dirt path leading up the mountain, through stunning landscapes, to a picturesque spot where Panousis, Enagron’s shepherd, tends his flock beside the mitato (a traditional stone, domed structure built without mortar).
The scenery is breathtaking, offering views of the mountains and Rethymno's coastline.
At the mitato, you’ll enjoy a delightful meal prepared over an open fire by Aphrodite, the shepherd’s wife.
After a restful break, you’ll begin the return journey.
Children aged 5 and above are welcome to join.
