Agiofarago is located south of Matala and west of Kali Limenes, at the southernmost part of the western Asterousia Mountains. According to the Unesco Cities in Crete website, the journey begins by car from the Odigitria Monastery and continues on foot through towering cliffs and caves. The hike is relatively easy, taking about an hour to complete.
The trail through Agiofarago leads to an impressive beach with imposing rocks, pebbles, and crystal-clear turquoise waters.
