Toubotos Prinos Shelter
ABOUT
You can reach the shelter either on foot or by car. To ascend, there is a designated path (part of E4) that begins from the village of Fourfouras (located 42 km from Rethymno) and takes approximately 4 hours. If you prefer to drive, access by car is available from the village of Kouroutes (located 45 km from Rethymno), where a 12-kilometre dirt road leads to the shelter.
From the shelter, it takes approximately 3 hours to ascend to the peak of Timios Stavros, where you'll find a chapel bearing the same name.
The shelter has been operating since 1984 and has 30 beds.
