The Monastery of Agia Kyriaki in Varipetro
ABOUT
The Monastery of Agia Kyriaki is located near Varipetro, 12 km from Chania. It is a dependency of the women’s Monastery of Chrysopigi. Its single-aisled church is dedicated to the Transfiguration of the Savior (celebrated on August 6th) but also honors Agia Kyriaki (July 7th).
It is visited by both the faithful and nature lovers, as it is set in an area of exceptional beauty. Here, you can also visit a restored 16th-century olive mill.
