Cities & Villages

ABOUT

Kali Limenes, located in the southern part of Heraklion, offers more than just breath-taking natural beauty and stunning beaches. Its rich history, archaeological significance, and religious attractions make it a destination of great interest.

Serving as a natural harbour since ancient times and continuing to do so to this day, Kali Limenes holds a unique place in maritime history.

To the west of Kali Limenes, you will discover a church dedicated to apostle Paul.

Across from the port of Kali Limenes, you will find the islet of Mikronisi, locally known as the ‘Apostolos Pavlos’ islet. This islet is equipped with modern facilities to provide supplies to seagoing ships, serving as an important hub for maritime activities in the area.

To the east of the present-day settlement, in the Chrysostomou area, lie the remains of the ancient city of Lasaia.
