Koustogerako is nestled in an amphitheatre-like fashion on the mountainside, cleverly concealed from the sea, possibly as a precaution against pirates many centuries ago.
For mountain enthusiasts, the E4 trail offers a challenging and strenuous route that takes around 8 hours to reach the Omalos Plateau.
Alternatively, a second route takes approximately 4 hours and descends to Sougia. Along the way, hikers will encounter the Kyklopa Cave, a notable southern cave situated in the village of Livadas.
