Agia Irini Gorge

The Agia Irini Gorge extends to the scenic beach of Sougia. It spans approximately 7 kilometres and is part of the E4 European Path. The gorge can be easily traversed with signs guiding the way, and it typically takes about 3.5 hours to complete the hike. This remarkable gorge has been recognized for its ecological value and is included in the NATURA 2000 Network.

Within the gorge, there are two water springs, one at the entrance and another at the exit, providing refreshment for hikers. Exiting the gorge, visitors will come across a tourist canteen, offering a place to rest and grab a bite to eat. Continuing towards the beach of Sougia, just a few more kilometres away, there are additional amenities available, including tavernas, accommodation such as rooms to let, and small hotels.
