Voni: The Largest Pilgrimage Site in Crete

Every year, many Cretans follow a tradition by undertaking a pilgrimage to Agia Marina in Voni.The celebration takes place on 17^th July, and people gather at the Holy Monastery in the region, with many devoted individuals covering significant distances on foot to reach it.

They host a grand festival featuring vendor stalls, Cretan music, and all the amenities you could wish for.

There is also the Church of the Transfiguration of the Saviour in the village.

Apart from its administrative centre, the Voni Community encompasses Galatas as well.
