Tasting Experience at Miliarakis Winery

Nestled in the charming village of Peza, Miliarakis Winery offers visitors an authentic and immersive journey into the world of Cretan wine. With a beautifully crafted tasting area and engaging presentations, it's a must-visit for wine enthusiasts.

As you step through the entrance, a delightful piece of history greets you — a pre-war bicycle once used to deliver wine to Heraklion, alongside a historic Blackstone generator. This was the first generator to bring electricity to Peza, powering both the winery and half the village.

Inside, the museum space showcases vintage winemaking equipment, from grape presses and pumps to hand-operated bottling machines and a traditional stone-built wine press. The walls are adorned with historic photographs, including a surprising gem: the astronauts of the Apollo spacecraft posing with bottles of Minos wine!

You'll also find a screening room, dedicated tasting areas, and a shop stocked with the winery's finest selections.

When to Visit

The winery welcomes visitors daily, except Sundays, from April to October. During the rest of the year, visits are available by appointment.
