Theotokopoulos Park is located west of 25th August Street and is surrounded by numerous cafes, pastry shops, and restaurants catering to all tastes.
The park in the heart of Heraklion's centre is a small green oasis with areas for relaxation and entertainment for people of all ages. You can also find many cafes and restaurants catering to different tastes around the park.
When you visit the park, you'll be greeted by a statue of the renowned Cretan painter, Domenikos Theotokopoulos (El Greco). He began his career as an icon painter in Crete and later studied and lived in Italy and Spain. Influenced by the greatest painters of his time, he developed his own unique style and technique, which placed him among the most important painters in the world.
