Stegi Vitsentzos Kornaros

Sitia, as many know, is the birthplace of Vitsentzos Kornaros. In this beautiful town, you’ll find a cultural centre dedicated to this great figure of Crete.

The Vitsentzos Kornaros Cultural Centre is housed in a distinctive two-story stone building, standing at the corner of—how fitting!—Vitsentzos Kornaros, Kazantzakis, and Fountalidis streets. This 19th-century building has been declared a protected historical monument.

The ground floor serves as an exhibition and museum space, while the upper floor hosts lectures, meetings, cultural events, as well as the centre’s library and offices.
