The area hosts an important archaeological site, parts of which have been uncovered by the excavations of the 25th Ephorate of Prehistoric and Classical Antiquities.
In addition to the Minoan-era residential structures discovered on the hills of Chamalevri, the uncovering of a craft installation for the production of essential oils in the same area is of particular interest.
You can also visit the Monument to the Australian and Greek soldiers who fell during the battle against the Germans.
