Exploring Creta: Rethymno’s Hinterland Experience
ABOUT
First stop is the Melidoni Cave, also known as Gerontospilios. (The visit lasts approximately 30 minutes).
Next, you'll visit an olive grove, where you’ll enjoy a one-hour olive oil tasting accompanied by vegetarian snacks, followed by a 30-minute self-guided tour of the olive museum and olive park. You’ll see centuries-old olive trees, some of which are more than 1,500 years old.
Then, we head to a ceramics workshop in the village of Margarites. There, you’ll tour the facilities and have the chance to get hands-on with clay and create your own ceramic pieces (about 45 minutes).
After that, you'll have 1.5 hours of free time to wander around the colourful village of Margarites, soak up the atmosphere, enjoy a light meal or refreshments, or browse local products and souvenirs in the village market.
