ABOUT
It features ship models, a diverse range of nautical instruments and devices, including gauges, barometers, anemometers, route or speed planners, torpedo firing discs, magnetic compasses, meteorological instruments, sextants, anti-torpedo boat helm or steering instruments, and more.
The Maritime Museum of Crete has an additional location at the opposite end of the old Venetian harbour in Neorion Moro. This site houses the Permanent Exhibition of Ancient and Traditional Shipbuilding, which features the Minoan ship ‘Minoa’. This ship is a meticulously reconstructed and historically accurate representation of a prehistoric rowing vessel from the 15th century BC, belonging to the island's shipbuilding tradition.
