Kotsanas Museum of Ancient Technology
ABOUT
The Museum of Ancient Technology was inaugurated in 2019 and is situated within the two-storey Itar Mansion, found at 18 Epimenidou Street, in the historic centre of Heraklion.
The building was erected in 1500 AD during the Venetian occupation and is recognised as a site of cultural heritage.
The Kotsanas Museum aims to showcase the technological accomplishments of ancient Greeks, striving to demonstrate the striking resemblance between ancient Greek technology and the origins of our modern technological advancements.
Additionally, the museum offers educational programmes and hosts workshops, speeches, symposia, seminars, book presentations, film screenings, and more.
In summer, events are hosted in the museum's atrium.
