Klisidi: A Traditional Village on a Lush Hillside
ABOUT
Perched on a verdant hillside at the western foothills of Mount Psiloritis, Klisidi is a charming little village with only a handful of houses and breathtaking views over the Amari Valley and the surrounding mountains.
Its name likely comes from a small chapel ("klisidi" meaning "little church"), though some believe the village's location was once a key passageway ("kleidi" meaning "key") to other settlements in the region.
The village church, dedicated to Saint Spyridon, is one of the first landmarks visitors encounter upon arrival, standing prominently along the main road.
Just outside the village, you’ll find a famous natural spring known as "tis Petras to nero" (The Water of the Rock), renowned for its purported benefits against kidney stones and sand deposits.
For those looking to relax and soak in the peaceful atmosphere, Klisidi has a traditional taverna-café where you can enjoy local flavors in a tranquil setting.
