Keritis Bridge
ABOUT
In the picturesque village of Alikianos stands the stone-built, triple-arched Keritis Bridge. This impressive structure is one of the most important architectural and historical landmarks in the region.
Built in 1908 by architect Anastasios Logothetis from Kythera, the construction involved the collective effort of the entire Alikianos community, under the supervision and care of Eleftherios Venizelos. Declared a modern monument by the Archaeological Service, the bridge is included in Greece’s list of protected archaeological sites and monuments. It is praised as an exemplary piece of early 20th-century engineering, combining expert construction techniques with high aesthetic value.
