Gergeri Natural History Museum

The Museum of Local Natural History, affiliated with Gergeri High School in the Municipality of Rouvas, was established in 1995.

For an extended period, it operated at limited capacity. However, in 2023, the Municipality of Gortys, in collaboration with the Natural History Museum of the University of Crete, undertook a comprehensive renovation of the museum.

The museum is situated within the schoolyard of Gergeri High School.

Its purpose is to showcase the natural environment of the south-eastern outskirts of Psiloritis, the plain of Messara, and western Asterousia, while also serving as an educational resource for students, teachers, and the broader community.
