In Crete, Lampri (Easter) in our hearts means the village, family, friends, the distinctive aromas, the fragrant images, and the flavours born from tradition, rich with symbolism.
During Holy Week, as tradition dictates, Cretan housewives prepare the Easter kneaded goods – ta zymotá tis Lambris.
The Cultural Association of Kastelli, in collaboration with the Cretan Cuisine Festival Association, is hosting an Easter workshop on Sunday, April 13, 2025, at 15:00, at the Michalis Sala Cultural Centre, in Kastelli Pediados.
In its invitation, the organisers say:
“We’re waiting for you all – young and old – to knead together, to shape galatera, lambrokouloura, avgotes, koutsounes or koukounares, to bake little tsourekia, yeasted kalitsounia, and lychnarakia.
Let’s bake and fill Pediada with the scent of tradition!”
