Agios Nikolaos and Neapoli are getting into the carnival spirit once again!
In 2024, "The World of Water" left a lasting impression, with visitors raving about the experience. For 2025, the bar is set even higher, as the Municipality of Agios Nikolaos presents the Lake Carnival with the theme: "The Circus of Dreams"!
A Two-Day Celebration Around the Lake!
The main event will take place on March 1st and 2nd, 2025, around Lake Voulismeni in Agios Nikolaos. But the festivities kick off a week earlier, on February 21st and 22nd, in Neapoli, featuring a carnival party and a treasure hunt.
Hat Competition! 🎩
On Saturday morning, March 1st, 2025, the carnival begins with the now-traditional Hat Competition. A judging panel will select the winner, who will receive a special prize.
"The Night of the Clowns" 🤡
On Saturday night, the spectacular night parade begins! During "The Night of the Clowns", participants will march through the city to the sound of drums and percussion, creating an electric atmosphere. The parade ends on the pedestrian street, where the ultimate street party kicks off!
The Grand Parade! 🎭
On Sunday at 4:30 PM, the official parade starts from the marina and follows this route: Central Square – Port – Lake Theatre. The celebration doesn’t stop there! A huge party follows, drawing crowds to the city's vibrant bars, restaurants, and cafés.
A Festival Embraced by the People
According to Manousos Pediaditis, Deputy Mayor of Agios Nikolaos, last year’s event was a resounding success. The public enthusiastically embraced the carnival, and everything ran beautifully.
