The Platania Gorge – located in the Rethymno region, on the southwestern slopes of snow-covered Psiloritis – will be the destination of the Mountaineering Club of Agios Nikolaos on Sunday, March 30, 2025.

The group describes the route as follows:
“Our hike will start from the village of Fourfouras (476m), where we’ll arrive by bus. From there, we’ll climb up to the Ochra spring (1,236m) and continue to the Korakia plateau (1,476m). After that, we begin our descent: via a dirt road, we’ll reach the entrance of the beautiful Platania Gorge, which we’ll follow all the way to its exit at the village of the same name. It’s a demanding hike, suitable for hikers in good physical conditiontrekking poles and mountain boots are essential. If the weather doesn't cooperate, the leader may adjust the route!”
