Vamos Village: Experience olive harvesting the traditional way!

Experience a one-of-a-kind olive harvesting adventure, known in Crete as "liomazoma." Starting from the Tourist Office in Vamos, you’ll follow Mr. Manolis, the olive grove owner, by car to the nearby village of Paidochori.

Under ancient olive trees aged between 300 and 700 years, you’ll spread the necessary nets and begin the harvest. Olives are collected traditionally with an olive comb, not with machines that emit exhaust and noise. You’ll feel one with nature!

During a break, enjoy a picnic with local flavors and coffee under the olive trees.

At the end, you’ll learn how to prepare and store your own olives. Then, you’ll visit the area’s olive mill to see olive oil produced the traditional way and taste organic olive oil.

Before you leave, you’ll take home one liter of organic extra virgin olive oil and a small bag of olives.
