SS MINNEWASKA: Dive into a Shipwreck!
ABOUT
On November 26, 1916, the steamship MINNEWASKA struck a mine and sank near Marathi, in Souda Bay, Chania. Today, the remains of this shipwreck can be admired through a fascinating dive.
The Greek authorities have given the green light for exploration, but under no circumstances are divers allowed to interfere with or alter the wreck. You can marvel at the remnants of a ship that once proudly sailed the seas, but taking anything from the site is strictly prohibited.
The dive is conducted by boat, close to Marathi Beach.
