Kallikratis Gorge
ABOUT
Kallikratis Gorge is a relatively small gorge, unknown to most visitors of Crete.
It can be crossed by following an easily accessible path, offering views of the sea at several points. This path connects the mountain pastures with the villages of the Fragokastelo plain. You can ascend from there and descend through the entrance located in the village of Kallikratis. The village is almost deserted, with very few residents. The Church of Panagia, perched on a hill, serves as a landmark of the area.
There are no accommodation or dining options in Kallikratis.
The hike through the gorge takes about three hours.
The tip of Local!
The gorge ends at the village of Kapsodasos, at an altitude of 120 meters, and from there, Chora Sfakion is 8 kilometers away.
