Discovering the Picturesque Beauty of Mononaftis Beach

Mononaftis is a small picturesque beach, nestled in a cosy bay, near Cape Diakori. According to the locals, its name (meaning ‘a single sailor’) originates from the lone sailor who survived an ancient shipwreck. Additionally, Mononaftis also refers to the sizable rock rising just a few metres from the shore, resembling a sailing ship.

Despite its size, Mononaftis Beach, stretching no more than 80 metres, is equipped with amenities such as sunbeds, parasols, and showers. Additionally, visitors can enjoy the convenience of cafés and tavernas for a comfortable experience.

Mononaftis Beach features a blend of coarse sand and pebbles, but caution is advised when entering the water due to the presence of large flat rocks in certain areas. Fortunately, the beach benefits from its sheltered orientation, creating a more tranquil environment for visitors to enjoy.
