The captivating exhibition "Nelly's - Krasaki Collection" at the Chania Municipal Art Gallery will now remain open to the public through November 23, 2024. The exhibition occupies all three floors of the gallery with an eclectic array of Nelly's photographic works, from landscapes, ancient ruins, and portraits to scenes from everyday life, theater performances, architectural studies, and striking nudes. Together, these diverse themes form a harmonious world crafted by Nelly's lens—one of the most significant voices in Greek photography during the interwar period.
On display are 150 carefully selected prints from the private collection of Tina and Michalis Krasakis, which holds around 300 of Nelly's works, making it one of the most comprehensive private collections of this celebrated photographer's creations. The works showcased here, primarily silver gelatin and bromide prints, were personally printed, signed, and stamped by Nelly herself at the time of their creation, enhancing their historical authenticity. Some of these pieces are being shown to the public for the very first time.
