On Saturday, April 27, 2024, it's Lazarus Saturday for the Greek Orthodox Church.
Starting from 10:30 in the morning, if you're in Malia, one of Crete's most popular destinations, in the Municipality of Hersonissos, you'll have the chance to witness something unique: young children will revive the Lazarus bells.
The Children's and Youth Choir of Malia, conducted by Mr. N. Antonakakis, adorned with daisy wreaths in their hair and small baskets in their hands to collect eggs, will roam once again through the neighborhoods and picturesque alleys of Malia to announce the Resurrection of Lazarus and to convey the message of nature's rejuvenation.
