On Sunday, February 2, 2025, the Agios Nikolaos Mountaineering Club is organizing a beautiful hike in the Elounda area.
Here’s how the members describe the route:
"We will start in front of the Elounda Primary School and hike up through old footpaths to the traditional village of Pines. Along the way, we will see cisterns filled with goldfish, ancient olive trees, and take in the breathtaking beauty of nature. Then, we will cross the small but stunning Havgas Gorge, which ends just above Plaka. Finally, we will return to our starting point, following the coastal road through Tsifliki, enjoying the sea views. It’s a beautiful and easy route, ideal for beginner hikers."
