The Panhellenic Association "The Heart of a Child", in collaboration with the Municipality of Malevizi, the "Heart of a Child" Running Team, and the Fodele Cultural Association, is co-organizing the 10th Fodele Run for "The Heart of a Child" in Fodele, on Sunday, February 16, 2025.

The event features two stunning nature-filled routes of 7 km and 10.5 km, offering participants the chance to run or walk through breathtaking landscapes while supporting the Panhellenic Association for the Information & Assistance of Children and Adults with Congenital Heart Disease.

Routes:

A) 10.5 km Race – For Adults

• Start: Fodele Square
• Route: Fodele Square → Agios Panteleimon Monastery → through Dasoura Valley → return to the village square
• Start Time: 12:00

Route Description (10.5 km):

The first 600 meters are on asphalt before runners turn left into the lush Dasoura Valley, a 4 km stretch filled with plane trees, wild vegetation, and orange groves along a well-maintained dirt road with gentle inclines. The path then joins the road leading to the monastery, passing through a scenic area with plane trees, a river, and orange trees. The course is mostly flat, except for the final 500 meters before the monastery, which has a mild uphill incline. The return follows the main road back to the village square.

B) 7 km Race – For Children & Adults

• Start: Fodele Square
• Route: Fodele Square → Agios Panteleimon Monastery → return to the village square
• Start Time: 12:10

Route Description (7 km):

The first 1.5 km is on asphalt, followed by a smooth dirt road that winds through plane trees, a river, and orange groves. The course is mostly flat, except for the final 500 meters before the monastery, which has a mild uphill incline.

Transportation for Participants & Spectators

A bus will depart from Heraklion at 10:00 AM from Eleftherias Square for those participating or wishing to watch the race.
