Milia Mountain Retreat – Chania

The traditional settlement of Milia welcomes visitors year-round, presenting a model of sustainability.

Essentially, it is a restored 16th-century village where the rooms maintain the architecture and aesthetic of the mountainous landscape of Western Crete. Carefully reconstructed with attention to detail, they evoke a sense of stepping back in time.

There are four types of rooms available: Standard Double, Large Double, Suites, and Family Apartments. All rooms feature an internal bathroom as well as a balcony or patio/terrace for moments of relaxation.

Electricity is provided by photovoltaic panels, ensuring lighting and hot water 24/7 throughout the year. During winter, guests enjoy heating from fireplaces or wood stoves. However, in line with the eco-friendly ethos, there is no air conditioning or other electrical appliances, such as cooking facilities, refrigerators, or hair dryers, to keep electricity usage within nature’s limits.
