Melistalakti Women’s Agricultural Cooperative
ABOUT
Harakas is a semi-mountainous village in the Archanes-Asterousia region, a place where tradition is still very much alive. Tucked away in one of its charming alleys, you'll find the Melistalakti Women’s Agricultural Cooperative, which has been crafting authentic Cretan delicacies since 2011.
This is the perfect spot to taste traditional flavors and pick up a thoughtful gift for those waiting back home.
Here, five dedicated women keep the culinary heritage of Crete alive. If you call ahead, they'll welcome you into their space, share their secrets, and immerse you in the magic of handmade Cretan cuisine.
You won’t know what to choose first: xerotigana, kalitsounia, tsoureki, herb pies, sarikopites, olive-oil biscuits, carob-based sweets, and so much more—all made with love and care.
The tip of Local!
While you're here, visit the Church of Agios Panteleimonas or make your way to Haraki, where the ruins of a castle stand proudly over a breathtaking view.
