Knossano or Agia Irini Gorge

The Knossano Gorge stretches from Archanes (Agios Mamas) in the south, passing through various settlements such as Kato Mylos, Myristi, and Agia Irini Spilia, and has a total length of approximately 5.7 km. It is traversed by the Kairatos or Katsambas torrent, which flows through Agia Irini and Knossos before reaching the Katsamba area and eventually the sea. The area surrounding the gorge, usually referred to as Paradisos, is recognised for its exceptional natural beauty and is part of the Natura 2000 Network.
