ABOUT
It starts southeast of the village of Gonies at an altitude of 300 meters and ends in the village of Kera at an altitude of 670 meters. The total length of the gorge is 2,750 meters. It is a branch of the Ambelos Gorge and is a relatively easy route with only a few challenging spots. The gorge’s steep incline qualifies it as a mountaineering route. The ascent takes about 2 hours.
There is a well-formed hiking trail along the slopes, with wooden supports at several points for hikers.
In particularly dangerous spots, the path is secured by wooden railings. Just before the exit at the vertical cliffs, there is a very narrow and hazardous passage that almost hangs over the precipice.
At the end of the steep climb, there is a wooden kiosk. The trail then descends along an old path.

The tip of Local!
For experienced mountaineers, the recommended route starts from Gonies, crosses the Rosa Gorge, and then follows a dirt road to reach the Panagia Kera or "Kardiotissa" church. From there, you can continue the route to the village of Krasi, known for its historic plane tree, via another dirt road.
