Dalabelos: Τhe slow food experience

At the “Dalabelos” estate in Aggeliana, Rethymno, you can immerse yourself in the authentic slow food experience. Designed according to the principles of the global Slow Food movement, this unique initiative ensures that every bite you take is delicious, socially responsible, and environmentally sustainable. Slow Food opposes fast food and advocates for a world where everyone can enjoy good, clean, and fair food that respects both people and the planet.

The experience begins outdoors, amidst the estate's serene surroundings. Guests personally harvest seasonal ingredients from the estate’s grounds for their meal.

The group will prepare a main dish using locally sourced, free-range meat and a second course featuring fresh organic vegetables. Together, you’ll also create two appetizers and a salad, while learning how to pair wines with food.

The activity coordinators will guide you through every step, sharing insights about the food’s preparation, traditional stories, and its connection to the local culinary culture and history.

The experience lasts 5–6 hours and is available for groups of 2 to 12 people. The cost for the Slow Food Experience at Dalabelos Estate is €600 for groups of 1–4 people, with an additional €120 per extra participant.
