The restaurant "Avli" in Malia introduces you to traditional Cretan cuisine, made with high-quality local ingredients from the Malia area. Each dish is prepared with care and respect, aiming to highlight both the nutritional value and the deliciousness of the ingredients.
Following the farm-to-table and zero-waste philosophy, "Avli" grows its own fruits and vegetables on a private farm in Vitsilia. All organic waste is recycled and composted, providing nutrient-rich soil for their crops, while also reducing the restaurant’s environmental footprint.
Every day, they bake fresh sourdough bread in their wood-fired oven, along with traditional dishes like the fantastic beef wrapped in eggplant with local graviera cheese, and pork shank served with skioufichta pasta. The menu changes seasonally, based on the availability of ingredients.
"Avli" is housed in an 18th-century mansion that radiates the warmth of a Cretan home and fills the air with the scent of jasmine.
