Peza: A Cornerstone on the Wine Roads

ABOUT

Nestled amid vineyards and olive groves lies Peza, the administrative centre of the Municipality of Archanes-Asterousia.

It is a spacious village that encompasses a town hall, amenities including Citizen Service Centres, and all the essentials a visitor might need: restaurants, shops, grocery stores, banks, a local clinic, and pharmacies.

The area has become a significant stop on wine routes and a vital component of the itineraries for wine enthusiasts engaging in wine tourism. The longstanding winemaking heritage of the region is further evidenced by the presence of medieval wine presses situated near the chapel of Agios Konstantinos.

The churches of Agios Nikolaos, Agios Konstantinos, Agios Dimitrios, Agios Georgios, and Agioi Kosmas and Damianos can also be found in the area.

A grand festival takes place on the 21st of November to celebrate the feast day of the old Church of the Presentation of the Virgin Mary, the village's patron saint.
