Monastiraki: A Historic Village with Centuries of Heritage
ABOUT
Nature enthusiasts will undoubtedly be familiar with the Ha Gorge. Nestled in its shadow lies the quaint village of Monastiraki, boasting centuries of presence. In fact, the village's earliest homes belonged to monks.
Although the area thrived in the 19th century, it gradually fell into decline, and for many years, only one resident called the village home. However, with systematic renovations to both buildings and infrastructure, Monastiraki has undergone a remarkable transformation.
The village is distinguished by its historic watermills and traditional cafés, where visitors can savour local dishes while enjoying breath-taking views of the surroundings.
