Kounaviano Gorge

It is a gorge filled with abundant vegetation, sure to delight even the most discerning nature enthusiasts.

The Kounaviano Gorge is the second major tributary of the Karteros River. At its exit, it joins the Astrakiano Gorge, which is the second riverside branch, and eventually flows into the sea after a 5-kilometre journey.

The trail commences at the Peza biological treatment facilities. The trail meanders along the riverbanks of the gorge, offering a lush path equipped with wooden bridges and railings in challenging sections.
