Havgas Gorge, Lasithi Plateau
ABOUT
The Havgas Gorge is the only large gorge in the Lasithi Plateau.
It’s traversed by the Havgas or Xenikos River, whose waters flow into the Aposelemis Dam.
The gorge stretches for about 4 kilometres, with a smooth, accessible lower section, while further up it narrows and climbs towards the stunning Neraidokolymbos Lake.
There, you'll find a small waterfall and a striking perfectly round boulder—a natural sculpture that’s become one of the most photographed sights in the area.
