Glyka Nera: A Must-Visit Beach with a Special Touch
ABOUT
Its pristine waters, pebbled shore, and the captivating café-taverna nestled on a rock amidst the sea create a truly rare and enchanting ambiance.
However, reaching Glyka Nera can be challenging, as prospective visitors have two options: accessing it by sea via boat or embarking on a difficult hike along the E4 European Path, beginning at either the port of Sfakia or Loutro. The hike from Sfakia takes approximately 30 minutes and from Loutro 60 minutes, while a boat ride from the port will swiftly transport you to your destination in just 5-7 minutes.
Visitors have the delightful opportunity to savour their coffee or indulge in delicious meals at a taverna built atop a rock, overlooking the beach.
Glyka Nera is a stunning beach that, in 2003, was ranked among the 20 most beautiful beaches in Europe by The Times of London.
