Folklore Museum of Chania
ABOUT
The Folklore Museum showcases a variety of exhibits related to folk art and traditions, providing visitors with a representative glimpse into the way of life of earlier inhabitants of the island during the 18th and 19th centuries. The museum features a collection of tools, raw materials, and products from traditional cottage industries, crafts, and rural life. Additionally, there are displays highlighting agricultural occupations, domestic arts, craftwork, and recreations of interiors of rural houses. Of particular interest is the museum's workshop, where Cretan embroidery is revived and embroidered paintings are crafted.
