Almyrida Beach
ABOUT
Almyrida is a coastal settlement and beach located within the municipality of Mylopotamos, in the region of Rethymno.
The small sandy beach has a rocky seabed and is enveloped by tamarisk trees, which provide shade for those enjoying the beach.
To the west of the beach, there is a pier where fishing and tourist boats are moored. To the east, you'll find the beach known as Alyki, which has been shaped by the presence of an old marsh and a small stream that flows into the sea.
The dried marsh is part of the national wetland census known as Elos Sison which translates to Sison Marsh.
