Cretan Adventures: Hiking in Yiouchtas

This small mountain, standing at 811 metres, offers breath-taking panoramic views of Crete's highest mountains, the Messara plain, and the northern coasts. The mountain is adorned with olive trees and dense vegetation, providing a serene and natural ambiance. Keep an eye out for the majestic sight of eagles or vultures soaring above the rugged rocks of the impressive western face of the mountain.

Yiouchtas has been recognised as an important European habitat since 1982 and has been included in the international list of ornithological biotopes since 1989.
